Privacy Policy

Last updated: April 13, 2026

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how Acumen Foresight LLC, a Delaware limited liability company ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), operating under the brand name "Businium," collects, uses, and shares information in connection with your use of our website at www.businium.com, our Chrome browser extension, and any related services (collectively, the "Service").

By using the Service, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Service.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

  • Account information: name, email address, and password when you register for an account.
  • Payment information: billing details processed through our third-party payment provider, Polar.sh. We do not store credit card numbers on our servers.
  • AI API keys: your own API keys for third-party AI providers (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic) that you voluntarily provide. These keys are encrypted at rest and used solely to generate outreach messages on your behalf.
  • Campaign data: LinkedIn profile URLs, contact names, campaign configurations, and message templates you create.
  • OAuth credentials: if you sign in via Google or LinkedIn, we receive your name, email, and profile picture from those providers.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

  • Usage data: pages visited, features used, and campaign performance metrics (e.g., connection request success/failure counts).
  • Device and browser info: browser type, operating system, and screen resolution for service compatibility.
  • Extension activity: task execution status (pending, executing, completed, failed) and timestamps to manage campaign scheduling.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We never ask for or store your LinkedIn password.
  • We do not scrape or bulk-download LinkedIn content beyond what is necessary to execute your configured campaigns.
  • We do not use cookies for advertising or tracking purposes.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Execute LinkedIn outreach campaigns you configure (profile visits, connection requests, messages, follow-ups).
  • Generate AI-personalized messages using your own API key.
  • Process payments and manage your subscription.
  • Enforce safety limits to protect your LinkedIn account (daily action caps, warm-up periods, human-like delays).
  • Send transactional emails (account confirmations, billing receipts, security alerts).
  • Respond to customer support requests.
  • Detect and prevent fraud or abuse of the Service.

4. Chrome Extension

The Businium Chrome extension operates within your browser and communicates only with our servers at www.businium.com. Specifically:

  • The extension reads LinkedIn profile data (names, titles, URLs) only when executing campaign tasks you have configured.
  • All actions are performed within your authenticated LinkedIn session — we never access your LinkedIn credentials.
  • The extension stores your Runner Token and extension state (enabled/disabled) locally using Chrome's storage API.
  • Campaign action results (success/failure) are reported to your Businium dashboard.
  • No data is sold or shared with third parties.

5. Data Sharing and Disclosure

We do not sell your personal information. We may share data with:

  • Service providers: third-party vendors who assist in operating the Service (e.g., Neon for database hosting, Polar.sh for payment processing, Google Cloud for infrastructure). These providers are bound by contractual obligations to protect your data.
  • AI providers:when generating personalized messages, your campaign context (prospect name, title, company) is sent to the AI provider associated with your API key (e.g., OpenAI). We do not control these providers' privacy practices — please review their policies.
  • Legal compliance: we may disclose information if required by law, regulation, legal process, or governmental request.
  • Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your data may be transferred to the acquiring entity.

6. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your information:

  • All data in transit is encrypted using TLS/HTTPS.
  • AI API keys are encrypted at rest using AES-256-GCM.
  • Database access is restricted and authenticated via secure connection strings with SSL.
  • Application-level security headers (HSTS, X-Frame-Options, CSP) are enforced.

While we strive to protect your data, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and API keys.

7. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. Campaign data (contact lists, message logs, execution history) is retained for the duration of your subscription. Upon account deletion, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your data.
  • Object to or restrict processing of your data.
  • Request data portability.
  • Withdraw consent at any time.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at privacy@businium.com.

9. Children's Privacy

The Service is not directed to individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you become aware that a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to delete such information.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using the Service, you consent to the transfer of your data to these jurisdictions, which may have different data protection laws than your country of residence.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
